Brief History

San Juan High School was founded 1966 by virtue of a Barangay Resolution sponsored by Alberto S. Bagtas. Through the collective efforts of Mr. Bagtas and former barangay captains Estanislao Cortez and Valentin Francisco of San Juan and Sta. Cruz respectively, funds were raised for the construction of the first PTA High School Building within the San Juan Elementary compound. It was then Mr. Serafin Lising of San Antonio, Mexico who acted Assistant Principal from 1966 to 1968.Then followed by Mrs. Eligia E. Florentino.
         In 1983, Ms. Estrelita Malabasco was appointed as Head Teacher, and from that time San Juan High School became an independent school from elementary.
         Mrs. Remedios P. Asuncion acted as Officer-in-Charge and thru the recommendation of the Barangay Officials. PTA officials and co-teachers, she was appointed as the Head Teacher in 1985.
         In June 1991, San Juan High School transferred to its new site, a sprawling 16,169 square meters lot. In the new site is the newly constructed building under academic building and a Technology-Home Economics Building. Aside from the SEDP building, the new structures were also put-up, a classroom and one DECS Science Building were constructed thru the help of Congressman Oscar Rodriguez.
        The new site and building which were a dream come true were made possible by the love, care, concern and civil spirit of the donor, Doña  Marcelina Paras Vda. De Ocampo of the Philanthropic Ocampo Clan and the untiring support of the San Juan Barangay Councilors headed by Alfredo A. Rivera and the late Gregorio Pineda, an industrious and civic minded PTA.
In 1995 another building was constructed through the initiative of Francisco Celis, the PTA President. It was donated by the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
         In response to the need of the students for more class homes, additional buildings were constructed:  the Industrial Arts building and Academic building.
         In 2003, Covered Court was constructed for various school programs and activities through the initiative of Hon. Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc.
         San Juan High School has been developed by Mrs. Remedios P. Asuncion and was replaced by Mr. Miguel R. Rivera Jr. on that fateful third day of August 2004.
         In 2005 through the collective efforts of Mr. Paul Dizon PTA President, Hon. Leonardo Sinamban, Hon. Board Member Pinong Laus and Hon. Mayor Teddy Tumang, the stage and the two storey building were constructed.
         After a year, S.Y. 2006-2008, PTA President Teresita P. Villegas concretized the construction of the gate and the guard house as well as the reading centers for Filipino and English areas. It was on the same year when also 20 computers were purchased as part of the schools computer literacy program.
         Today, San Juan High School continues to give flesh to its reputation of performing well not only in the Cluster but also throughout the Division. And the tradition still continues…
